What We Do

Located at our facility in Pasadena, California, Van Dyke Visual Effects is a small VFX team that primarily operates as a filmmaker’s VFX department, delivering seamless visual effects for film and television. Headed by our Founder and Supervisor, Dave Van Dyke, our team provides VFX Supervision, Producing, Editing, On-Set Supervision, Production Management, Data Management, Motion Graphics, and In-House Compositing for some of the biggest shows on television and in theaters.

In addition to running our own shows, we often provide VFX Compositing Services as a For-Hire Vendor. With our world class compositing and graphics team, we’re accustomed to working on projects of all sizes to help bring your vision to the screen.

Working hand-in-hand with the filmmaking team, we offer a complete suite of VFX department services for the studio. Led by VFX Supervisor David Van Dyke and VFX Producer Shane Strickman, who serve as department heads on these productions, we guide your show both creatively and financially from initial script breakdowns through photography and final compositing.
With over 25 years of on-set experience, we are often brought in to supervise complex VFX sequences or support productions that require a VFX presence during photography. We offer a comprehensive skill set including on-set VFX supervision, VFX producing, data wrangling, and still photography.
Led by VFX Supervisor David Van Dyke and Compositing Supervisor Kyle Gray, our Nuke compositing team brings decades of filmmaking and final compositing expertise. Coupled with a strong graphics team, our compositing department delivers premium quality 2D, 2.5D, and motion graphics for your production.
